If you want an artist that is versatile and open to experimenting with their sound AWOLNATION is a band to listen to.
Signed to Red Bull Records, AWOLNATION is composed of Aaron Bruno (Vocals), Christopher Thorn (lead guitar) Kenny Carkeet (Rhythm guitar and keyboards), David Amezcua (bass) and Hayden Scott (drums).
When I say their sound is versatile, it literally touches upon pop rock, dark rock and energetic dance music.
My first encounter with AWOLNATION was the song “Sail”, which I immediately became obsessed with. The vocals are desperate and rough, which pairs up well with the dark and slow tempo of the sound.
Their song “Not Your Fault”, is a 160 from Sail. It’s an upbeat, faster tempo song. But still presents Bruno’s distinct vocal talent.
And then there is “Burn it down”, that is a rock song on Red Bull. The fast tempo and vocals following the same speed, you can’t help but move your head and body along with the song. It’s definitely an upbeat song.
Depending on your mood, AWOLNATION has something for you. It hard for me to put a genre to their name, because their so diverse in their sound. I give them props to being open to different sounds, and not just sticking to one comfortable type of sound.
