Medina (born Andrea Fuentealba Valbak) from Denmark is an example of a great artist that has yet to make it “big” in the states.
I first heard her song addiction on the BPM station on xfm radio and was addicted. Like a lot of electro pop, you have best of both worlds. you have the dance tracks lined with emotional and deep lyrics that almost anyone can relate to.
Releasing her debut album in 2007 Up Close and then her follow up album Welcome to Medina in 2008, which helped her to rise to fame in the UK and Denmark.
It wasn’t until 2009 that Medina released an english version of her single You and I, the single that helped her rise to fame in 2008.
Medina has a great electro beat, whether fast or slow tempo, her voice always stands out (in a great way).
